About
California ease. New York hustle. Chelsea J. Smith is a bi-coastal actor, writer and producer. Through her work, she explores characters grappling with OBSESSION, FIXATION, and EXTREME AMBITION in the human condition.
Looking back on her career as a dancer, Chelsea was always drawn to the “acting” roles. You won’t find a better Fritz in the Nutcracker - the bratty younger brother who’s desperate to play with his sister’s Nutcracker! While in NYC, dancing led her to acting and she trained at the renowned William Esper studio under Bill Esper. She has worked extensively in theater and is pushing ahead into TV and film. She recently won Best Actress for her performance of Alice in the play The Box, for her role as Keylot in the pilot Night Visit and also for her role as Carol in the feature film Don’t Tear Yourself Apart, now streaming on Amazon Prime. She can be seen in season 3 of the show BMF on Starz.
To capitalize on performing in and producing art she believes in, Chelsea co-founded and serves as Creative Director of Little Spoon, Big Spoon Productions, LLC. Current projects include an original short film Honey Bee which is currently on the festival circuit and an original web series #JADED of which she is a co-writer. She combines her passion for art and philanthropy and collaborates among diverse communities and like-minded people.
Chelsea is following her father's advice to, "Go for it!"
